Salman Khan dragged into the Armaan Kohli-Sofia Hayat controversy
Mega superstar Salman Khan has found himself amidst yet another legal controversy. The host of Bigg Boss 7 has been ushered to record his statement with the Lonavala police station on the Armaan Kohli-Sofia Hayat episode. The Jai Ho actor is being considered as one of the witness’ in this case. Sallu who has played the host for this popular reality show might not have expected to get embroiled in another legal battle, after his own woes with law.
Sofia had alleged in her FIR stated that the host and makers were biased towards Armaan and had ensured that he was retained in the show till the end. Salman has been actively involved in this show and is often seen doling advice to the contestants. Some also believe that the actor monitors the show closely. There were also rumours suggesting Sallu’s bias towards friend Ajay Devgn’s sister-in-law Tanishaa Mukherji. (Is Salman Khan unfair?)
While Salman is yet to give a statement, Armaan Kohli who was arrested yesterday and booked under sections 324 (voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous weapons or means), 504 (intentional insult to provoke breach of peace) and 509 (word, gesture or act intended to outrage the modesty of a woman) 506 (criminal intimidation) and 354 a (sexual harassment) of the Indian Penal Code. The actor was granted bail after an inquiry today.
During the police the inquiry, Kohli admitted fighting with Hayat, but he did not accept the allegation of physical assault. Kohli’s lawyer maintained that as the sections under which the actor has been booked are bailable, thus, he was granted bail.
