Music Review: Heartless (2014)

Director: Shekhar Suman
Cast: Adhyayan Suman & Ariana Ayam
Music Director: Gaurav Dagaonkar (# All Track) & Fuzon (Track #4)
Lyricist: Arafat Mehmood, Seema Saini, S.K. Khalish,Shekhar Suman

1- Mashooqana - (Ash King & Arunima Bhattacharya): A very enjoyable track. The track has an Arabic feel as lute, violin, bass drums and claps are used in music arrangements. Lyrics are good and Ash King and Arunima Bhattacharya has sung it brilliantly. Rating 3.75/5

2- Main Dhoondne Ko Zamaane Mein - (Arijit Singh): Sad and a very poetic track. Arijit's vocals are so soothing and he makes this song very soulfull. Arrangements are simple, yet powerfull and have a lasting impact. Beutiful track. Rating 4/5

3- Soniye - (K.K.): There is nothing wrong with the track, but there is nothing new in the song. It is based on same tested formula. You will feel immediately that you have heard the song before also. A usual romantic track. Not bad one though. Rating 2.5/5

4- Ishq Khuda - (Khurram Iqbal): Pakistani group 'Fuzon' behind this song. Khurram Iqbal was a participent in Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Singer Superstar 2010 and in 2012, he became the lead singer of the group Fuzon. The leader singer of Fuzon before Khurram Iqbal, was Shafqat Amanat Ali. The song is beautifully written, composed and sung. Singing was top notch and so was composition which was very soothing. Rating 4.25/5

5- What A Feeling - (Mohit Chauhan & Sukanya Ghosh): The track has not much impact. Mohit Chauhan and Sukanya are wasted in this track. It feels like the composer tried to create another 'Barfi' track. Rating 2/5

6- Heartless - (Mohit Chauhan, Aniruddh Bhola & Suzanne D'Mello): Title track of the movie. It describes the pain a heart goes through when it's beloved fails to have valued the relationship they shared. The song is more like a mad ranting meant to specify the rage and lack of harmony in his life, though the listener would not really feel it. Rating 2.5/5

7- Thanks Brother - (Shekhar Suman & Adhyayan Suman): Sung by father and son. The track is sort of an epilogue to the movie thanking Aayush Suman, who passed away at the age of 11 due to a heart ailment, for being there in their lives and the feeling of fraternity is well delivered through the track.

8- Mashooqana (Remix) - (Ash King, Arunima Bhattacharya & Sanjoy Deb): Just a routine fast paced remix. It has some good beats though which can be liked by young genertion. Rating 3/5

9- Main Dhoondne Ko Zamaane Mein (Reprise) - (Arijit Singh): Equally good and beautiful as the original song. Rating 4/5
