Hasee Toh Phasee; Average Day One

Hasee Toh Phasee has collected around 3.75-4 crore nett on its opening day at the box office. The collections were okay in Mumbai, Delhi/UP, East Punjab and Mysore due to the contribution of metros.

The collections elsewhere remained very low with poor contributions from the mass markets. Mumbai grossed around 1.30 crore nett, Delhi/UP around 90 lakhs nett with East Punjab was 42 lakhs and Mysore should come in at 25 lakhs plus.

The contribution from the above circuits alone is 75% as places like Rajasthan, Nizam, CI etc had low collections. The film will show growth on Saturday but probably not the sort of growth that it needs to come out with a good weekend. The big positive for Hasee Toh Phasee is that the word-of-mouth is very good, so business is expected to escalate Saturday evening onwards and put up good numbers on Sunday.

The response to the film is quite similar to Dharma Productions’ 2012 release Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu, which also got excellent reviews and did well only at select cities, but that film took a bigger opening (5.27 crore) and went on to collect around 40 crore lifetime and got 'Average' tag.
